My sketchbooks and studies form an important part of my creative process and are often where ideas, characters, compositions and emotional threads first begin to emerge.
Working quickly and instinctively allows space for experimentation, spontaneity and discovery, capturing moments and gestures that often go on to shape larger finished paintings.
Selected studies, sketchbook pages and original works on paper are occasionally made available to acquire through projects such as The Secret Sketchbook and Backstage in Blackpool.
