Step into my private studio and unlock your creativity in a calm, inspiring setting where you can see new possibilities, feel creatively recharged, and tune in to your unique artistic voice.
No experience needed. These experiences are tailored to suit beginners, hobbyists, or returning creatives. You can come alone or bring a friend—it’s your time, your space, your journey.

My mission is to help you see your creativity come to life, feel inspired and grounded, and walk away with a sense of achievement—alongside your artwork.
These personal workshops are more than just a class—they are a hands-on, heart-led experience. Choose a day of expressive play, like the Kick Up the Arts session, where we use sketchbooks to explore mark-making, mindfulness, and visual storytelling. It’s ideal for freeing your creativity and reconnecting with your inner artist.

Whether it’s your first brush with portraiture or a chance to level up, you’ll work in a space that encourages focus, learning, and confidence.
You choose the pace, the project, and the process—you’re in control. I’ll support you every step of the way. Whether you come with a clear vision or just a sense of curiosity, I’ll help you discover what works best for you.
Where the Art Happens
My private art studio is in the vibrant seaside town of Blackpool; full of colour, energy, and places to stay. You’ll be welcomed into the very space where I create my internationally exhibited artwork—a peaceful, studio designed to help you feel at ease, let go, and get creative.
Please note: my studio is up two flights of stairs and may not be accessible to everyone.
One-Day Experiences (10am–4pm)
All materials, lunch and refreshments included. Choose Your One-Day Creative Experience:
1 – Portrait on Paper
Create a mixed media portrait of your choice on paper—choose a person, an animal, or even something more imaginative (ever wanted to paint Gollum? Me too!). We’ll work together to bring your chosen subject to life using expressive techniques.
2 – Kick Up the Arts
A playful sketchbook exploration designed to free-up your creative flow. I’ll share how I use my sketchbooks in different ways—from visual diaries to idea generators—and we’ll flick through my many private sketchbooks for inspiration before diving into your own.
Two-Day Experiences (10am–4pm each day)
All materials, lunch and refreshments included. Choose Your Two-Day Creative Experience:
1 – Portrait on Canvas
A two-day acrylic painting intensive, where you will develop a portrait on canvas from start to finish. I’ll guide you through the process step-by-step, with plenty of tips, demos, and encouragement to help you build confidence and bring your subject to life.
2 – Kick Up the Arts: Extended
This expanded 2-day experience gives you time to explore a variety of techniques and creative warm-ups, while building a sketchbook habit you can keep up at home. It is ideal for anyone wanting to reconnect with their creativity and establish a sustainable practice.

Once we’ve set a date, I’ll send payment instructions—your booking will be confirmed once payment is received. You’ll also receive a welcome pack with everything you need to prepare for your visit.

Staying in Blackpool
Why not make your ART by JEN studio experience part of a mini-break?
Blackpool is the UK’s most loved seaside town, with golden beaches, theatres, and world-famous attractions. There is a huge range of accommodation, from cosy B&Bs to stylish boutique hotels.
My studio is in a quiet part of town, just five minutes by taxi from Blackpool North train station. Private parking is also available if needed. Full details will be sent in your welcome pack after booking.
Accommodation is not included in your workshop or studio visit.

A Day in the ART by JEN Studio – What to Expect
Here’s how your experience might unfold (times are flexible and designed for ease):
10:00am – Arrival & warm-up
Settle in with a cuppa and begin with fun, loose exercises to awaken your creativity.

11:00am – Guided creative time
We’ll dive into your portrait or sketchbook session, depending on your choice. I’ll adapt the guidance to suit your confidence level—from ready-to-start portrait outlines to full sketching instruction.

1:00pm – Lunch break
Enjoy a relaxed buffet in my kitchen. I’ll make sure all dietary needs are covered in advance. You won’t go hungry!
2:00pm – Focused flow
Time to dive deep into your artwork with my full support. You will be surprised how far you’ll come in just one day!

3:30pm – Reflection & wrap-up
We’ll take time to review what you have created, talk through what worked for you, and explore how to keep your creativity going at home.

4:00pm – Farewell
You’ll leave with artwork in hand, a mind full of ideas, and that satisfying feeling of having made something meaningful.

The Ultimate VIP Art Indulgence — Private Studio Day with Jen Allen
A private day in my studio, just for you (and a friend)
I love welcoming people into my studio and sharing what I’m working on, what inspires me, and what drives my creative process. This experience is like a 1-to-1 exhibition, but even better — you’ll see what’s in the studio, works in progress, flick through my sketchbooks and get a real sense of how my art evolves from idea to finished piece.
The day is designed for up to two people, whether you want a quiet, personal visit or to bring a friend along. We’ll enjoy relaxed conversation over tea, coffee, or even a glass of bubbly, have lunch together, and get to know each other. At the end of the visit, you’ll choose a signed original sketch or a small study to take home, a keepsake from your day in the studio.
You can book a time that suits you, making it a truly personal and flexible experience.
Duration: 11am-2pm, allowing plenty of time for conversation, a relaxed lunch and explore the studio.

13:15 – Explore Sketchbooks & Works in Progress
